I ordered this item in spite of the "Generic" brand name. It was the only Lightning to USB cable I could find that was shipping and not a pre-order. It does work for the intended use, which was to provide a way to charge my phone in my car via USB without having to use the charge cable that came with the phone which I wanted to be able to leave at home. I've accomplished this, however the Generic cable (at least the one that I received) is not "reversible", in that my phone will only charge with it when plugged in one way and not flipped the other, as if it has a top and a bottom. Not a huge issue, but one worth pointing out ...I'll just put a dot on the "top" of the Lightning plug to indicate the "side up" orientation ...
